Removable Tattoo Ink
What’s that you say? You change your mind about the tiger on your forearm? Now there’s a way to ease the pain of tattoo regret. This article may be worth your while if you’re considering getting a new tattoo.
An advanced type of tattoo ink has hit the market that allows ink to be surgically removed much easier than traditional ink. The artwork from this ink looks the same as any normal tattoo but is 3-4 times easier to remove if you decide to do so.
The new ink is called infinitink and is made by a company called Freedom2ink. President and CEO, Martin Schmieg says that “17% of the people with tattoos suffer from some sort of tattoo regret and of those 5% see a laser dermatologist for removal.”
This new tattoo ink allows the body to naturally absorb the pigments when they are broken down through laser surgery. Removal treatments can be painful but the process is much easier and far less painful, not to mention less expensive. Some dermatologists say that the removal procedure can be done in one sitting, depending on the size and placement of the tattoo.
Many people will logically ask what this tattoo ink will this do for the tattoo industry? Dermatologist, Dr. Bruce Sall who specializes in tattoo removal says “It will open a floodgate for people who want tattoos.” He may be right. For many just the idea of not having to make a life-long commitment is enough to commit to getting a tattoo.
Many tattoo artists say that their clients will want the old style ink. “You can’t tell someone what to do,” Says tattoo artist David Paige. This makes sense but it’s likely that any new product that offers this degree of change is not likely to be met with open arms by everyone. Adoption into the world of tattoos will likely take some time.
Infinitink is also more expensive than the old style ink and comes in a single vial for each color. Tattoo studios that use it will often charge double for the price of regular ink, but that’s just a rough estimate. Call and ask around for Infinitink at local tattoo studios. Here is a list of places that currently use the ink but it is not exhaustive.
In conclusion, if you’ve made a choice to get a tattoo but know that someday you might change your mind, take a look at Infinitinks. When looking at your finished artwork, it will look like any normal tattoo yet having it removed will be far easier and a lot less painful. Who knows, someday removable inks may become the new standard for tattoo inks.
